This month, our guest Latina Roggero will be discussing her experience with the passing of three of her loved ones and how she worked through the "Five Stages of Grief": Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
Eating, exercising, utilizing stress-reducing techniques and socializing can have a positive effect on your physical, mental and overall health.
Consider these 4 things to live longer and live better.
To ensure you get all the nutrients you need from the food you eat, try to aim for a diet rich in fruit, vegetables, quality protein, healthy fats, and low in processed, fried, and sugary foods. Don't forget to drink plenty of water.
You don't need to have full mobility to experience the health benefits of exercise. If injury, disability, illness, or weight problems have limited your mobility, there are still plenty of ways you can use exercise to boost your mood, ease depression, relieve stress and anxiety, enhance your self- esteem, and improve your whole outlook on life.
When it becomes hard to find your way out of the downward spiral caused by overwhelming stress and anxiety, try turning to music. Music has the ability to quickly shift our mood, affecting our subconscious mind where pesky negative thoughts feed on our fears and fuel the fires of stress.
Go and play your favorite jam!
Have some fun with kids! Playing around with them can help you understand the joy of play like never before. If you don't have young children, arrange a playdate with your grandkids, nephews, nieces, or other young relatives.

Did you know? The physical activity levels of older adults in the United States is low, and there are many potential barriers to physical activity.
Recently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans Midcourse Report: Implementation Strategies for Older Adults (Midcourse Report). The Midcourse Report is a guide to help policymakers and health professionals; health care providers; gerontologists; built environment professionals; local, state, territorial, and tribal leaders; and others working with older adults implement strategies to support physical activity among adults ages 65 years and older.
The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans offer evidence-based advice on physical activity, fitness, and health for all of us. It's the go-to source for the federal government on these topics. Check out this other stat: Less than 15 percent of older adults meet the recommendations outlined in the Guidelines.
The Midcourse Report aims to increase physical activity levels among older Americans by highlighting effective strategies and interventions. It encourages people to start or continue physical activity at any age. How about it? Start supporting the activities in the Midcourse Report by using Move Your Way® resources, such as videos, social media messages, fact sheets, posters, and the Activity Planner, are available for older adults and health care providers in both English and Spanish.
Aging is something that we can't avoid, but it can be an amazing experience!
